Projects
The CMS Education Unit leads and is involved in a large number of national and international EU-funded projects in the fields of seafaring and transport logistics. At the moment, we are taking part in the following international co-operational projects:
METALS - Maritime Education and Training Analysis and Linked Suggestions
The objective of the METALS project is to research and analyze future maritime changes and needs of i.e. environmental issues, safety, maritime economy and protection of the workers. The national maritime sectors and maritime education and training (MET) systems are compared between the partner countries Turkey, Italy, Spain and Finland. The objective of the comparison is to clarify what kind of demands the changes in the maritime sector cause for the MET systems and how the education can be adapted to these changes.
The METALS project is partially funded by the European Commission Leonardo da Vinci program.
The national administration of the funding in Finland is managed by CIMO, an expert and service organization promoting international cooperation and mobility.
